Dance Instructor/Creative Team Member

$25,000-$36,000

Hours:
20 hours or more a week depending on experience and diversity

Duties & Responsibilities:
Spotlight Dance Academy is once again expanding its programs and is searching for fabulous dance instructors/Creative Team members for 2019-2020 dance season and beyond. We have opportunities to shadow, train and teach this summer and for our full dance season in September. Our classes are taught by skilled teachers, in positive classrooms and we pride ourselves on age-appropriate movement and music. Our dancers go beyond technique and poise to develop important life skills – learning to be respectful, confident and conscientious young people in the community. Potential Creative team members must have a high energy level to match our students, excellent presentation and professionalism, and a thorough knowledge of dance and it’s history. We love career minded, long term employees who have stand out work ethic and desire to grow. We are seeking versatile teachers who are skilled in multiple styles and who enjoy teaching everyone – from young dancers to teens. Strong ability to do so in a safe, welcoming environment while fostering the development of individual students is desired. Creativity, strong work ethic and reliability are a must. Our Studio and Staff are members of I.D.E.A- International Dance Entrepreneurs Association We have positions open for pre-professional and recreational instructors and are offering highly competitive wages.

Required Qualifications:
Teach exceptional classes that will spark the interest of dancers of all ages and engage them long term. Have extensive training in dance technique, and experience working with children as young as 5. Forge relationships with each child, so that they feel recognized, and so their parents feel confident that the child is well cared for in class. Work hard for positive feedback from parents and students. Uphold Spotlight Dance Academy's reputation as an outstanding place for children to fall in love with dance and grow up in. Care for the studio as a whole; always working for the greater good of the staff and the students by exemplifying our values in everything that you do.
