Wanner, Heather

Heather Wanner is an educator at heart.  Having spent many years teaching in the Elementary and Middle School classrooms, working with children and nurturing their spirits and well-being has always been a passion of Heather’s.  As a former Actor’s Equity Member spending many years auditioning and performing in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, her love for performing was something she couldn’t ignore.  After studying Dance and Elementary Education and dancing for a Nationally Ranked College Dance Team, Heather successfully combined her love for performing and teaching and opened Shoreline Dance Academy.  It is there that she has cultivated a space where she can nurture the hearts of her students while teaching the art of dance and performance.

Heather has participated in many interviews and panel discussions with Rhee and has led several seminars and workshops for IDEA Members.  It is her purpose and focus to encourage all dance educators to embrace the importance of the role we play in the lives of our students and that our impact on them can last a lifetime!  She strives to inspire our dance community by sharing strategies and activities to make your studio a “Home” for students and faculty alike where everyone feels they are important and essential to the fabric of your studio culture. She is honored to return to the DLTC Faculty for a second year and to work amongst some of the most inspiring people in our industry!

Of the many joys in her life, Heather takes most pride in her loving family and being a mother to four beautiful children.
