Robeaux, Shantel

Shantel Robeaux is the owner and director of Shantel’s Dance Academy in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, founded in 1999. Her love for dance became apparent from a very early age, and is still the driving force behind her efforts to share her knowledge with her students and teachers across the country. Her parents encouraged and supported her passion by enrolling her in dance classes at the age of two. After years of formal training she began to choreograph competitive pieces, and she led programs for many different recreation departments. The love of dance and the passion to teach others made it an easy decision for her to open a dance studio.

Prior to opening her school, she attended college with a major in education and is a member of Dance Masters of America (DMA) and Louisiana Dance Masters of America (LADM). DMA & LADM are nationally known non-profit educational organizations. She received her certification to teach Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Acrobatics by passing a written and practical examination in each subject. She is also a member of the International Dance Entrepreneurs Association (I.D.E.A.) and is a member of Rhee Gold’s Gold Alliance, a leadership program for studio owners, where she has trained in leadership, business and personal growth.

She is an entrepreneur in every sense of the word, having owned a photography studio, a lawn care business, a florist shop, as well as her studio. Her skills managing employees, marketing, creating systems and procedures have helped to make Shantel as a knowledgeable speaker who is always willing to share with teachers and studio owners.
